Visitors Finally!

April has been a good busy month for us! We have had members from both sides of the family come to visit us, which is always nice. Usually Just Jared's dad comes, he is our most frequent visitor. The beginning of the month Craig (Jared's dad) Will (Jared's brother) and Jared (will's friend) came down for an unexpected visit. They called us around 10:30 in the evening on March 31st and said " we will be at your house at 4:00 am." There wasn't much notice, so we paused our show, got up off the couch and started cleaning up the house. They didn't get there at 4 but it was still early enough. As soon as they walked in the house they crashed on the couch and air matress and I left for work. Craig left the next day because he had to be in Idaho for work on monday and it's a long drive back to his home in seattle to prepare to leave. He left Will and Jared behind to enjoy their spring break with us. It was pretty fun, we took them to downtown San Diego to go shopping and we ate at the Hard Rock Cafe. (Pictures will come soon)

After years of begging, my parents broke down and on Thursday they were on their way to see me. I was so excited because it was the first time they have come to visit in CA since I have moved here 3 years ago. Plus I hadn't seen them since December of '07 so it was past time. Unfortunately I haven't been able to take any time off during the week to spend with them since they arrived but they have come to eat lunch with me on friday and then today. We had a fun busy weekend, on saturday we woke up and went fishing off the end of the pier but didn't have any luck catching anything. Then we ate some lunch and took them on a tour of Camp Pendleton to see how Jared and the rest of the marines live life. We stopped at a neat museum on base that had tanks and old vehicles from past wars. The sense of Pride overwhelmed me as I stood there taking pictures. As much as I hate the marines because of the crap they have put us through I can't help but get emotional every single time something patriotic comes along. After our long base tour we went to the harbor at night to see the boats and the lighthouse. We ate fish and chips and headed back to the house to finally fall into bed. On Sunday we got up and got ready to drive to San Diego to go to Seaworld! I just love going to Seaworld, we get one pair of free tickets per year for military thanks to Anheuser busch (Budweiser for those of you who don't know) I have gone every single year that I have been here and I still just love seeing everything over and over! They changed one of the shows and I saw a few things that I never had before so that was fun. we stayed until the park closed at 9:00 and we watched the fireworks that they set off every night at 9:15. So far it's been a fun trip and I love having them here! I will be sad to see them go home this week. I will post pictures of both trips soon, I have been lazy with posting anything!

HEAT WAVE!

It is so hot today....The temp on that thermometer is so lie! It was so warm yesterday that it stayed 80 degrees at 9:00 pm. I slept with both of the sliding glass doors and window open plus the ceiling fan on. Thank goodness I work in an office that has air conditioning! I do bank runs for the company every other day or every day depending on the amount recieved and when I got into my car the temp gage said that is was 105! Ha...I don't know where the heat wave is coming from but we are melting here in California. :)

Progress

So I realized that it's been forever since I have updated everyone on the healthy living I am trying to do. I am still currently going to the gym almost every day for at least an hour. I have uped my cardio to 30 minutes from 20, and I still do weight training every night. I also have been doing tanning on the side, It's really not the healthy living but I sure do look good golden brown! :D So it's been about a month and a half and I have been getting a little frustrated. I didn't feel like there were any results besides me feeling a little bit better every day. Every time I would weight I kept gaining weight and then I would get mad but I kept going. But then I slowly started to see that I have lost inches in certain spots and they aren't as large as they used to be since my muscle finally built up enough to have a result. Last night I weighed in again and kept my fingers crossed....I Lost 4.9 Lb!!! Finally something!

Court...I'm Innocent I swear!

So I'm totally late in posting this but A LOT has been going on lately! On superbowl sunday I was pulled over during half time when I was on my way home. I was going 10 mph under the speed limit, paying attention to the beater car next to me, and obeying all traffic laws. I came up on this light and the turn signal was yellow and turned to red as soon as I went through the intersection. I was going straight and the light was very much green! The beater was going about the same speed as me and we went through together. Then out of no where this bike cop pulled me over and said that I ran a red light. He was so mean to me it was terrible! Well of course I couldn't fight with him and so I got a ticket. I felt like crap! I didn't not want to be a "Luwanna" as I call it. *Luwanna was the lady who didn't stop at the stop sign when I had the right-a-way and I hit her driver side door and totalled my car* I sat on the side of the road crying for like an hour and a half. Well court was on April 1st. Well the funny thing about the situation is that one of my best friend's dad is a California Highway Patrol, and the cop that pulled me over is one of his good friends that went to the academy with him.
So I had to take off a half a day of work and head to the court house. Jared met me there for moral support and as soon as you walk in they scan your items and make you walk through a security center like in the airport. Every employee looked at you and treated you like you needed to be cuffed and taken to jail right that second! It was embarrasing! So I waited almost two hours and then went into the courtroom with almost 75 other people there pleading their case and pled not guilty. Now I have a trial on May 18th to fight my wrongfully accused ticket. UGH! Frustrating!

Surgery

On Monday, Jared has his 3rd surgery of the year. (I think he is going for a record or something) Apparently he has what is called GERD or Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease. It's been a problem for him his entire life but is now finding out the exact cause, it seems to be getting more worse as he gets older. Every time he eats food he burps/throws it up afterwards *GROSS I KNOW* It's kind of sad though and very embarrassing for him. SO....after looking into this for quite some time, action is being taken. Monday morning at 10:30 he went in for a throat scope. We arrived at the hospital at 9:00 am, checked in, and got prepped so they could take him away. He is always so calm about this kind of thing since he practically lives at the hospital recently with all of his medical problems. If I was in his position I would be freaking out ;) They put him under and ran the scope all the way into his intestines. They had to cut a small piece of the intestines so they could make sure that he wasn't glutten intolerant *I hope not, glutten free food is discusting!* after about an hour I was called into a private waiting room where I could finally watch tv and they wheeled in his bed with a very sleepy/ out of it Jared. Surprisingly the first thing Jared said to the nurse was.."hey man, could you check on where my underwear went...I think you guys lost it when I had to change before I got put under." hahah how random is that! But sure enough, they lost his chonies. he very concerned about this issue though and kept asking for them but later doesn't recollect any of it. LOL He slept almost the whole day and his throat has been sore for the past couple days but he came out of part one surgery just fine. On April 13th he goes back for X-rays and after that they will proceed with Full out surgery where they will cut a piece of his stomach or something like that to fix the problem...poor guy....
