Happy Birthday To Me!

May 3rd...a day that's all about me....my birthday! The past few birthdays that I have had pretty much sucked, It was just another day to me and it didn't feel special at all. The last big semi Hoorah was for my 16th, so when asked what I wanted to do for my birthday I just responded with "what we do every weekend, nothing special". This of course made Jared sad that I didn't feel like I was special enough to do anything for my birthday so he went all out this year to make my 21st over the top.

My day started out pretty early for a sunday (well at least for my sunday haha) Jared woke me up at 8:00 and was telling me to get ready because he wanted to go out for breakfast. Then we tells me that he needs time to finishing planning something secret and wanted to kick me out of the house so I threw on some clothes and went to the tanning bed so he could have a moment. After my nice warm tan, I met Jared at IHOP. When I walked in the door he smiled and took me back to our table that he had gotten and said " I already ordered for you...this will be a test to see how well I know my Boo" I laughed at him and said " you better know me, we have only been together for almost 6 years now" The breakfast was delicious! He ordered me an orange juice, stuffed strawberry french toast, hashbrowns, eggs, and bacon. Yum! After our meal he said ok well you have an appointment to be at soon so get in the car and follow me, it's a surprise. He took me to June Angel Day Spa and I got a 30 minute massage! *it was badly needed after that guy rear-ended us* He is so sweet! We back to the house so I could finally take a shower and get ready for the day but when I walked in the door there was Jared with Camera in hand and my two besties jumped out from behind the wall and yelled "SURPRISE!" They had decorated my house with streamers, balloons, and they made me a cake! They are simply the best ever! We painted our toes and hung out for a bit then we all loaded up in the car and drove to Irvine to go to Dave and Busters (for all of you that don't know what that is, it's like an adult chucky cheese with better food and an open bar.) We started the night off with dinner in the lounge and then we headed off to play games. It was finally the time for the girls to have a drink together and we did just that. (Again as I say in every post...pictures to come...) Jamie and I got T-shirts with our tickets winnings and Mellisa got a coffee mug. I told her she would need it after the drinks we had since she is a light weight drinker. :) Love ya Mel! We got home at 12:30 am and we all had to get up and go to work the next day. So we didn't eat the girls cake but it looked great. It was a wonderful birthday and I am so loved and adored by these guys and they did everything they could to show me that. It was really nice!

Visits come to a close...

After a week with my parents they had to go home today. :( It was so good to see them since it had been so long. We had so much fun while they were here though, Fishing trips, seaworld, shopping, dinners. It was just great! For our last Hoorah before they left my parents took us out on a deep sea fishing trip in Dana Point. It was so great! (well besides me getting sea sick) It was a crazy rush to get there in the morning though, the boat was to leave at 10 am and we were coming from Oceanside which is about 30 or 40 miles from there. It was no problem for us to get there but we were concerned that Jared wasn't going to make it because he had to rush to the dentist to get a gold crown put on his tooth. So my parents and I left and he was going to meet us there. The drive was beautiful and everything was going smoothly.

We got to the Dana Point Harbor Drive intersection and we were waiting to turn into the harbor and then all of the sudden the guy behind us thought that the light had turned green and he rear ended my parents PT Cruiser. I was so ticked off, I was cussing him like crazy! Well my dad was really scared to get out of the car because that intersection is so busy to he motioned for the guy to follow us into the parking lot. Well the guys didn't understand and kept honking at us like we were trying to run. We had to stop at another red light and he jumped out of his car and pulled his license plate off of our car and then got back into his car and left. He didn't care to see if we were ok or say sorry. Well since we didn't have time to mess with the situation we just let it be and rushed to our boat. Well needless to say even though it was just a small accident it jarred my back enough to make it painful for the rest of the day and today it is hurting to much! We made it on time though and just prayed that Jared would be able to make it since the ticket was non-refundable and they were a pretty penny.

We started to load and we even talked to the captain and asked him to wait. They were so nice and said that wouldn't be a problem so we went and got our bait and then went back to the dock to pick Jared up. Some of the other passengers that apparently go out on these trips all the time said that in all the years that they have been doing this they have never gone back to get anyone ever! Jared felt pretty special :) On our ride out to the designated spot there were dolphins playing in our wake it was so neat and toward the end of the trip we saw a couple of whales. When we were allowed to drop our lines Jared was quick to catch a fish, in fact he was the first person. He caught a poisionous California Scorpion Fish. It was ugly :)

After getting sick and taking a mini nap in the gully, the trip was coming to a close. 5 hours into fishing and only around maybe 20 fish later we headed back into the harbor. Thank mom and dad for taking us, that was amazing! We took my parents out to dinner to Outback steakhouse to celebrate my birthday and their last day here. It was a good meal follow by the sadness of them packing up and getting to leave. I love you guys and thanks for coming to visit!

Visitors Finally!

April has been a good busy month for us! We have had members from both sides of the family come to visit us, which is always nice. Usually Just Jared's dad comes, he is our most frequent visitor. The beginning of the month Craig (Jared's dad) Will (Jared's brother) and Jared (will's friend) came down for an unexpected visit. They called us around 10:30 in the evening on March 31st and said " we will be at your house at 4:00 am." There wasn't much notice, so we paused our show, got up off the couch and started cleaning up the house. They didn't get there at 4 but it was still early enough. As soon as they walked in the house they crashed on the couch and air matress and I left for work. Craig left the next day because he had to be in Idaho for work on monday and it's a long drive back to his home in seattle to prepare to leave. He left Will and Jared behind to enjoy their spring break with us. It was pretty fun, we took them to downtown San Diego to go shopping and we ate at the Hard Rock Cafe. (Pictures will come soon)

After years of begging, my parents broke down and on Thursday they were on their way to see me. I was so excited because it was the first time they have come to visit in CA since I have moved here 3 years ago. Plus I hadn't seen them since December of '07 so it was past time. Unfortunately I haven't been able to take any time off during the week to spend with them since they arrived but they have come to eat lunch with me on friday and then today. We had a fun busy weekend, on saturday we woke up and went fishing off the end of the pier but didn't have any luck catching anything. Then we ate some lunch and took them on a tour of Camp Pendleton to see how Jared and the rest of the marines live life. We stopped at a neat museum on base that had tanks and old vehicles from past wars. The sense of Pride overwhelmed me as I stood there taking pictures. As much as I hate the marines because of the crap they have put us through I can't help but get emotional every single time something patriotic comes along. After our long base tour we went to the harbor at night to see the boats and the lighthouse. We ate fish and chips and headed back to the house to finally fall into bed. On Sunday we got up and got ready to drive to San Diego to go to Seaworld! I just love going to Seaworld, we get one pair of free tickets per year for military thanks to Anheuser busch (Budweiser for those of you who don't know) I have gone every single year that I have been here and I still just love seeing everything over and over! They changed one of the shows and I saw a few things that I never had before so that was fun. we stayed until the park closed at 9:00 and we watched the fireworks that they set off every night at 9:15. So far it's been a fun trip and I love having them here! I will be sad to see them go home this week. I will post pictures of both trips soon, I have been lazy with posting anything!

HEAT WAVE!

It is so hot today....The temp on that thermometer is so lie! It was so warm yesterday that it stayed 80 degrees at 9:00 pm. I slept with both of the sliding glass doors and window open plus the ceiling fan on. Thank goodness I work in an office that has air conditioning! I do bank runs for the company every other day or every day depending on the amount recieved and when I got into my car the temp gage said that is was 105! Ha...I don't know where the heat wave is coming from but we are melting here in California. :)

Jared is seriously the best. He has shown up to my work 5 times now on wednesdays to bring me lunch and flowers and when I ask why he just replies..."Just cuz it's wednesday" I love him so much! Here are the most recent flowers.

Progress

So I realized that it's been forever since I have updated everyone on the healthy living I am trying to do. I am still currently going to the gym almost every day for at least an hour. I have uped my cardio to 30 minutes from 20, and I still do weight training every night. I also have been doing tanning on the side, It's really not the healthy living but I sure do look good golden brown! :D So it's been about a month and a half and I have been getting a little frustrated. I didn't feel like there were any results besides me feeling a little bit better every day. Every time I would weight I kept gaining weight and then I would get mad but I kept going. But then I slowly started to see that I have lost inches in certain spots and they aren't as large as they used to be since my muscle finally built up enough to have a result. Last night I weighed in again and kept my fingers crossed....I Lost 4.9 Lb!!! Finally something!

Court...I'm Innocent I swear!

So I'm totally late in posting this but A LOT has been going on lately! On superbowl sunday I was pulled over during half time when I was on my way home. I was going 10 mph under the speed limit, paying attention to the beater car next to me, and obeying all traffic laws. I came up on this light and the turn signal was yellow and turned to red as soon as I went through the intersection. I was going straight and the light was very much green! The beater was going about the same speed as me and we went through together. Then out of no where this bike cop pulled me over and said that I ran a red light. He was so mean to me it was terrible! Well of course I couldn't fight with him and so I got a ticket. I felt like crap! I didn't not want to be a "Luwanna" as I call it. *Luwanna was the lady who didn't stop at the stop sign when I had the right-a-way and I hit her driver side door and totalled my car* I sat on the side of the road crying for like an hour and a half. Well court was on April 1st. Well the funny thing about the situation is that one of my best friend's dad is a California Highway Patrol, and the cop that pulled me over is one of his good friends that went to the academy with him.
So I had to take off a half a day of work and head to the court house. Jared met me there for moral support and as soon as you walk in they scan your items and make you walk through a security center like in the airport. Every employee looked at you and treated you like you needed to be cuffed and taken to jail right that second! It was embarrasing! So I waited almost two hours and then went into the courtroom with almost 75 other people there pleading their case and pled not guilty. Now I have a trial on May 18th to fight my wrongfully accused ticket. UGH! Frustrating!

Surgery

On Monday, Jared has his 3rd surgery of the year. (I think he is going for a record or something) Apparently he has what is called GERD or Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease. It's been a problem for him his entire life but is now finding out the exact cause, it seems to be getting more worse as he gets older. Every time he eats food he burps/throws it up afterwards *GROSS I KNOW* It's kind of sad though and very embarrassing for him. SO....after looking into this for quite some time, action is being taken. Monday morning at 10:30 he went in for a throat scope. We arrived at the hospital at 9:00 am, checked in, and got prepped so they could take him away. He is always so calm about this kind of thing since he practically lives at the hospital recently with all of his medical problems. If I was in his position I would be freaking out ;) They put him under and ran the scope all the way into his intestines. They had to cut a small piece of the intestines so they could make sure that he wasn't glutten intolerant *I hope not, glutten free food is discusting!* after about an hour I was called into a private waiting room where I could finally watch tv and they wheeled in his bed with a very sleepy/ out of it Jared. Surprisingly the first thing Jared said to the nurse was.."hey man, could you check on where my underwear went...I think you guys lost it when I had to change before I got put under." hahah how random is that! But sure enough, they lost his chonies. he very concerned about this issue though and kept asking for them but later doesn't recollect any of it. LOL He slept almost the whole day and his throat has been sore for the past couple days but he came out of part one surgery just fine. On April 13th he goes back for X-rays and after that they will proceed with Full out surgery where they will cut a piece of his stomach or something like that to fix the problem...poor guy....

Frustration, Weekend, Beginning of week 4

So "Mission Healthy Life week 3" just ended. It was a stressful week. I went to the gym every single day for almost 2 hours and all week I gained weight. I've been working so hard so it's discouraging. Blah Blah it's muscle..muscle weighs more than fat...Ugh I just want it to drop some...I mean it's been almost a month! But I can't let it get me down and just keep on pushing. I do feel better though, and I can see some muscle showing in my arms..I'm working hard on them since they are pre-Sumo looking to me lol. I've getting pretty tan as I'm taking advantage of the unlimited booth sessions included in my membership. I've only gone 5 times but i've darkened about 4 shades at least. I just hope that week 4 goes a little better. My cousin asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding, in may, and all the dresses she picked out I look like a whale in. So I really want to drop by then so I will look fabulous!

Over the weekend we finally got around to washing our mountain of dirty clothes, and washing our filthy cars inside and out. We also BBQed ribs for the first time. I have pictures of those event :) I got in a Snapshot mood. Enjoy everyone that is a mini update for now.

Not My Idea Of A Saturday Night!

So I hope that everyone had a great weekend! Ours started out pretty uneventful, Friday night I went to the gym on my way home from work. Jared didn't meet me there like usual because he was helping his friend with some tires. They were trying to shine up the rims and make them presentable to resale. Well if you had seen the tires then you would see that is was a forever long project but they did a good job. By the time I got home they were both in the garage with Grease up to their elbows. Both of them had big smiles on their faces..something about a garage just makes them feel so manly! :) I didn't want to interupt the bonding time so I went upstairs and hung out with Tico (My bird). We made a batch of baked french fries and played a couple levels of the game Little Big Planet. (Completely cracked out game but so fun for any age!)

Saturday morning Mellisa came and picked me up and we went to her salon so I could get my hair dyed. It was beyond needing it...I had regrowth about an inch and it was faded so badly! We did easter design toe nails and then she left about 3 so she could head to work. Jared and I bought a pot rack so we assembled that on the wall and then his friend left. Finally..first time alone since the weekend began and it was already 5 pm. We got into the car and was headed for the gym and to buy a new toaster when it all started. I got a small pain in my chest out of nowhere. About a minute later it happened again but worse and then it consistantly kept coming for about 2 hours. At didn't work out the gym because some of the pain brought me to tears. After the workout I told Jared that I was still having bad pains and he decided that I needed to go to the hospital.

At 7:00 pm we walked into the Emergency room and signed in. They ended up taking my vitals and putting me on the EKG machine to monitor my heart to see if there were any abnormalties. After I was finished they wanted to make sure that I wasn't pregnant because they needed to send me over to X-rays. Then after that I was hooked up to another heart montior for another hour or so. Turns out that my chest wall is inflammed and they aren't sure of the cause but apparently it could be several things. We were released from the hospital at 10 that night, with medication in hand to help with the pain and swelling. They said it should take about a week for both to be gone. Not very fun but I'm glad that it wasn't anything more serious!

Week 2!

So it's week two of my path to a healthier me...I'M EXHAUSTED! I have been going balls to the wall with going to the gym at least an hour a day. That includes 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of strength training on the weight machines, followed with a 10 minute hyromassage to ease my sore mucles and relax me. I am sore from head to toe and sometimes just sitting and do nothing is painful because I'm pushing my muscles to the limit. It will pay off soon, even though the wii fit mocks me that I am fat :) I think that today I will take a break and give myself some recoop time. For the record this is how I feel at work today lol.
I am taking some time out from my daily tasks and jotting down this blog for those that read it. Speaking of work...I am officially an employee for Eufora International as of last week! I am so happy that I have a great job in this trying time. When I sat down to fill out the paper work my boss asked me what I was getting paid at the staffing place, she said "We really like you and enjoy having you in our company. We would like to give you a raise and a little more responsiblity." So I am now the receptionist and accounting. :) It's kind of exciting but I am nervous because I don't want to be the one that messes up the bills. But once I get the hang of things it will be fine. We are still trying to get decorations for our new office space but for now it remains bare. I've been lame at getting pictures of it together to show everyone. Well I better get to work before I get caught slacking lol. Have a great day everyone!

OUCH!

So I have set my mind to getting fit. I have gained so much weight since living in California it's been unreal! I'm over being the fat friend and have decided to get my butt in gear. They have opened a new gym not far from my house and it's on my way home from work so Jared and I decided to check it out last sunday. SOOO NICE! I joined up and have been kicking my own butt ever since. I have gone every single day since signing up and I am so sore right now it's not even funny. My most awesome plan includes....
1. Cardio/Strength Area, Circuit & Locker Room Access
2. Unlimited Hydro Massage- so amazing after a great workout
3. Unlimited Tanning- to get my sexy back
4. Unlimited Guest Privileges- so Jared can come with me every time for free
5. Unlimited Personal Training Group Sessions- with only 4 people per class so it's personal
6. 50% off cooler drinks - When you feeling parched and forgot your drink
For only...$24 per month
hahaha sorry that was my sales pitch.
Later I will post pictures of my skinny in progress...but for now...here is the gym.

Beach Bonfire

So last night We went down to the beach and had a bonfire cook out. It was pretty fun! I was surprised how many fire pits were available, usually you have to fight for one, or so I have been told. :) We met Jared's friend and his wife at the grocery store and we loaded up on hot dogs, brownies, and of course the guys thought they needed beer. Then down to the beach we went. It was like 7:30 pm. All of the pits were taken at the Pier so we headed down to Harbor.

Lucky for us, there was a pit that already had a red glow so headed over there and didn't have to take the time to start a fire. We just threw the wood on it. It was so nice because the bonfires that I am used to are in the woods and you hear the trees and animals. But this time I could see and hear the waves crash into the shore. It was fun. The police came by a couple of times to make sure our fire wasn't out of control and that we didn't have glass containers. He stopped the first time and was like "You guys having a goood time? *while using his flashlight to check out our stuff* "ooo you guys have hot dogs!" it was pretty funny. Then he went to the next bonfire and ended up kicking them off the beach lol. They came back a little bit later after he left and when he came by again he made them leave again.

After about 2 1/2 hours we decided to leave so I finished up my Mountain Dew and threw it in the fire. I totally wasn't thinking and I left the cap on. It wasn't in there very long before it popped and exploded back out. It was HILARIOUS! the boys didn't think it was so funny because they freaked out and it gave them flash backs of Combat in Iraq. Tyler has ptsd so it was a bad deal for him. He almost pissed himself but I just couldn't help myself. I was in the sand almost crying because of the way they jumped and took off running. AH...Good Night!

Weeks quickly gone by...

I just can't seem to keep track of the weeks that are passing me so quickly! I can not believe that it is already the month of march on monday! WOW! I guess it has been passing me by because I don't want to think of leaving California at the end of the year. Regardless of how wretched times have been here, I have grown to love this place. My two amazing friends, with the most wonderful families who include us so much in their lives, will be so hard to leave. I love them so much! I have grown accustomed to the sunshine and the smell of the ocean on certain mornings. I love going to the beach and feeling the ocean breeze kiss my face.

I have been terrible at getting pictures posted on here, believe me I will get some up soon! Thing have been wild at the office, we have been doing class after class so we are at a constant set up then clean up mode. It's kind of exciting. Good news though, Next week I will be an offical full time Eufora Employee...YAY!!!! No more temporary status!

Poor Jared is having the time of his life going to doctor appointments multiple times per week. He is really trying to get put onto wounded warrior Battalion so he can better take care of his health, but the company that he is with absolutely refuse to do anything kind for him. I am so bitter towards them! it's not that they need him there to help train the new guys for the upcoming deployment, they basically want him to be their little duty "bitch" so they don't have to do any of the boring work. It's frustrating because it stresses Jared out and he is so unhappy. We are so ready for a vacation though, we haven't been able to go home since December of 07.

Overall things are going ok though. I miss everyone and wish someone would come see me :)

Office Space

The new office is coming along nicely! I am finally up in my new reception area and patiently awaiting my new desk. So for now I am camping out of boxes since I am unable to unpack. last week was so hectic. Lots of painting, knocking out holes for new doors in the wall, moving and packing up desks, and just generally being in the way of the workers and them in our way trying to get some work done. :) On friday we ended up being sent home early because we just couldn't work anymore. We had to move all of our furniture and boxes into our education room, so none of us had desks, computer, or phones. We simply weren't a functioning office anymore so we left around 1:00. Over the weekend they layed down the carpet and the painters are back touching up mistakes. Pretty soon it will be like a whole new building. I will post pictures of the experience soon. :)
